Dulquer Salmaan, Rana Daggubati team up for multilingual film Kaantha

Dulquer Salmaan has been treating his fans with surprises since morning. From announcing a new film to sharing updates of his upcoming projects, the list includes all. Now, the actor has announced his next film Kaantha. Dulquer, who is celebrating his 37th birthday, will be co-producing the film with Rana Daggubati.

Dulquer Salmaan to headline Kaantha

Kaantha will be helmed by Selvamani Selvaraj and produced by Rana Daggubati's Spirit Media and  Dulquer's Wayfarer Films. The makers have not revealed much about the project, but have hinted that it will be a challenging role.

Announcing the film, Dulquer Salmaan expressed his excitement and revealed that Kaantha is close to his heart. He added, "I've been eager to bring this to life from the day I heard the story as it's unlike anything we’ve seen in Indian cinema."

On producing with Rana's production company, Dulquer said, "To produce this along with Spirit Media and to perform one of the most challenging roles in my career is definitely an exciting journey that I am looking forward to".

Director shares details about Kaantha

The director opened up on collaborating with Dulquer and Rana for Kaantha and said he is honoured to make the film. “The story of Kaantha is brought to screen with the conviction of two people I deeply admire and respect, Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan," stated director Selvamani Selvaraj.

He added, "The centrepiece of the film is the acting prowess of Dulquer and I am honoured to weave this dream with someone as talented and rooted as him."

As the production gears up to begin filming, the release date of the film is yet to be announced. Kaantha will be released in four languages - Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil.
