Goa CM hails fishermen who saved Olive Ridley turtles, video wins internet

Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently took to Twitter to hail the local fishermen, who saved five Olive Ridley turtles off the state’s coast.

Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently took to Twitter to hail local fishermen, who saved five Olive Ridley turtles off state’s coast. While sharing video of rescue effort, Sawant, in tweet, called ‘kind gesture’ respectful. He also thanked fishermen for ‘respecting ecosystem’. 

In video, one can see fishermen snipping away ir fishing nets to rescue protected species. Three of men could also be seen holding huge turtles. According to reports, video was shot at Benaulim Beach in South Goa.

Netizens call fishermen ‘ble souls’ 

Since shared, video has been viewed over 47,000 times. With over 2,000 likes and several comments, netizens also called fishermen ‘ble souls’ for saving Olive Ridley turtles. Before Sawant’s post, same video h been shared on various social media platforms. fishermen were reportedly also feted by local Nationalist Congress Party MLA from Benaulim assembly constituency Churchill Alemao.

While praising fishermen, one internet user wrote, “I salute ble souls for excellent job of releasing incent marine life. True service of poor creatures”. Ar internet user-ded, “Fantastic work done by a good-hearted man this is a true donation to our nature”.
