17-Year-Old America's Got Talent Contestant Emily Gold Dies By Suicide: Reports

America's Got Talent contestant and cheerleader Emily Gold breathed her last at the age of 17. The dancer was found dead on Friday 13. As per foreign media publications, suicide is said to be a possible cause of her death.

As per People magazine, Emily was found dead on Friday at 11:52 PM. California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Rodrigo Jimenez shared a statement with the publication in which he shared, "Officers from the California Highway Patrol Rancho Cucamonga area responded to a pedestrian down in lanes."

The statement further read, “When the officers arrived, they located a female, 17-year-old, who was struck by at least one other vehicle in the carpool lane on eastbound 210.” It continued, "The female did succumb to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene." Emily was a part of the Los Osos High School dance team which qualified for the show's quarterfinals before being eliminated in August.

Official statement in Emily Gold's death case

The official dance team of the school took out a statement in Emily Gold's case. On September 16, they shared a statement with videos of Emily from the dance trials. A part of the note read, “It is with such heavy heart that we share the passing of our beautiful, kind and loving Emily Gold, Senior and Varsity Dance Captain. Emily has always embodied every aspect of our core team values through her strength, commitment, kindness, compassion, and the most humble heart." 

''With great sadness, we share our Los Osos Grizzly Emily Gold has passed away. As a community let's come together and support the Gold family in this difficult time. Please know this money will go directly to the family to support them and help with expenses,'' the post further reads.
