Actress Vera Farmiga and the Conjuring universe pay tribute to paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren

Renowned paranormal investigator and author Lorraine Warren, whose decades of ghost-hunting cases with her late husband inspired 'The Conjuring' film series and 'The Amityville Horror' passed away at the age of 92. As per media reports, Warren's son-in-law Tony Spera and grandson Chris McKinnell confirmed on social media that she died in her sleep on April 18 night at her Connecticut home.

Following the same, actress Vera Farmiga who portrays Lorraine Warren in the Conjuring universe took to social media to pay tribute to the departed soul. She penned a heartfelt note remembering her 'dear friend' on Instagram and shared a couple of pictures with her. Hailing Lorraine's grace, cheerfulness and righteousness, she wrote, "My dear friend Lorraine Warren has passed. From my deep feeling of sorrow, a deep feeling of gratitude emerges. I was so blessed to have known her and am honoured to portray her. She lived her life in grace and cheerfulness. She wore a helmet of salvation, she dawned her sword of compassion and took a shield of faith. Righteousness was her breastplate, and she has touched my life so. Love you, Lorraine. You're waltzing with Ed now."

Taking to their official Twitter handle they shared a picture of Vera Farmiga and Lorraine, saying, "The Conjuring universe community joins together today to honour Lorraine Warren, 1927-2019."
