Alec Baldwin's 'Rust' halts production as authorities investigate Halyna Hutchins' death

Makers of Alec Baldwin's Rust has halted its production while authorities investigate circumstances leing to death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. probe comes days after a gun handled by Baldwin discharged on sets, killing cinematographer as well injuring  movie's director, Joel Souza. According to Variety reports, actors were shooting for film at Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe when gun, which, Baldwin h been told was unloed, was discharged. 

A statement from Rust production company stated that y have me a decision to 'wrap set' until  investigations are complete. letter also mentioned that  production is aiding director Joel Souza in whatever capacity y can. People onboard production furr iterated that an internal review of safety protocols is being conducted.

As per Variety, makers didn't divulge or details about ongoing probe, stating ir 'limited ability' to declare anything 'publicly or privately'. team has also arranged for 'in-person and virtual grief counsellors' for project's cast and crew as y go through  tragic time, mourning loss of ir colleague. letter mentioned that producers were also in constant touch with Hutchins' family.

Donations to AFI Halyna Hutchins Scholarship Fund will be me by producers, who will match any contributions by crew. letter was concluded by producers mentioning ir heartbroken state, as y deemed it hard to 'see beyond horizon'. Calling moment a 'pause rar than an end', makers noted that spirit, which brought m to this special place, still remains. 

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office will be holding a news conference in herence to ir investigation on Wednesday. A petition, urging Alec Baldwin to use his influence and hold in  Hollywood film industry to ban real guns and bring about change on sets, has also been me. Actors Olivia Wilde and Holland Taylor are among  22,000 people to have signed petition till now. 

Alec Baldwin recently released a statement about incident and wrote that while he was in shock, he has been cooperating with police regarding investigation.
