Amazon's 'Lord of the Rings' series renewed for season 2

It has been confirmed that Amazon series, 'The Lord of the Rings' will be renewed for season 2. Pre-production on the first season is currently underway.

The Lord of the Rings is one of the most popular film franchises of all time. All the movies in the franchise received praise from both critics and the audience alike. Amazon will stream the series adaptation of the show and it has been confirmed that the show will also be renewed for a new season. Lord of the Rings gets renewed for season 2

Amazon has given an early season two renewal to its upcoming show The Lord of the Rings. Though the whole cast has not been fixed yet, it has been confirmed that Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, and Will Poulter will be seen in the series adaptation. The first season of the show is yet to be released, as it is still in the production phase.

Patrick McKay and John D. Payne will be the co-creators of the show and their writing team will work on the plot and the screenplay of the show. The plot will be set in the Second Age, which is also known as the Age of Númenor that lasted for 3441 years. The Age began after the banishment of the dark lord Morgoth and ended with the downfall of Sauron's army at the hands of an alliance of elves and men. The show will be produced by Amazon Studios, Harper Collins Publishers, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Television. The movie franchise had won several awards at the 76th Academy Awards for categories including best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, best costume design, film editing, and several others.
