People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) recently slammed Amul India for ir tribute to Joaquin Phoenix in ir latest Amul Topical. After Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor Award during Oscars 2020, many took to internet to pay tribute to actor's great achievement.

Amul India also joined in by sharing ir latest Amul Topical, where iconic Amul girl smeared butter over Actor's caricature while he held his Oscar Award. This im quickly drew ire of PETA India and or animal rights activists, who took to social media to monish dairy company for ir insensitive 'tribute', as Joaquin Phoenix is a vegan who never consumes dairy.

PETA slams Amul India for ir insensitive tribute to Joaquin Phoenix

After Joaquin Phoenix won his Best Actor Award, actor took st to give his acceptance speech. During speech, Joaquin Phoenix also discussed animal rights and cruelty of dairy industry. actor stated that he felt like people h become very disconnected from natural world. He ded that many humans were guilty of having an egocentric world view, and we believe that y are centre of universe.

Joaquin Phoenix n talked about cruelty of dairy industry, where people would separate calves from cows and steal ir milk to sell commercially. However, despite Joaquin Phoenix's anti-dairy speech, Amul India decided to pay 'tribute' to actor's Oscar win, by sharing a Topical where Amul girl fed actor butter. This immediately enrd PETA India, who called out Amul for ir im.

PETA India's Director of Celebrity and Public Relations, Sachin Bangera, also took to Twitter to slam Amul. He called out ir insensitive Topical, reminding Dairy Company that Joaquin Phoenix was a vegan and would never consume dairy. He also wished that Amul h done more research, informing m that Joaquin Phoenix's speech was about ditching dairy.
