According to recent reports, Apple TV will stream Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell's musical adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol' as all negotiations regarding acquiring its rights are about to be finalized. The film will be written and directed by John Morris and Sean Anders, famous for their work in Hollywood films like 'Daddy’s Home' and 'Instant Family'. Many details of the film are yet to be decided, including the characters Reynolds and Ferrell are expected to play.

Apple TV + woes
As the American company plans to launch its Apple TV + streaming service on November 1, it has been struggling to acquire film rights in an aggressive bidding game, and it has pushed into TV series and feature films. Ryan Reynolds' company Maximum Efforts will produce the film along with Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez Productions, with Anders and Morris also serving as producers. Apple’s new project is one of the many adaptations of Charles Dickens’s original 'A Christmas Carol'.

The plot of the movie revolves around a greedy miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his spiritual journey toward celebrating the entire holiday season along with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. In the most recent adaptations of the original plot, featuring actor Simon Callow in year 2018, was a one man show.

Apple has recently declared the release dates of its first three films coming this season, including 'The Elephant Queen', 'Hala', and 'The Banker'. The three movies will be first be released on their exclusive streaming service followed by its debut in theaters. The first of which will be the nature documentary 'The Elephant Queen' on October 18 before the streaming service launches November 1.
Ryan Reynolds recently appeared in this year’s most awaited movie, 'Pokemon: Detective Pikachu' as well as 'The Fast & Furious: Hobbs and Shaw'. According to sources, he will be seen next in Michael Bay’s '6 Underground', 'The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard', and 'Free Guy'.
