Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals Terminator was a small budget film

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger who kick-started his 'Terminator' journey with the 1984 film, recently revealed that it was a very small budget project.

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is all set to reprise his role as the iconic T-800 in the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate, recently recalled the making of the 1984 film The Terminator and disclosed that the film had a very small budget and the cast used to perform stunts without permits. 

"It was a small budget movie, it was an independent movie with $6.5 million and we had to do certain shots in Hollywood without permits," ANI quoted the actor as saying.

"I remember one time I got out the car and they said 'go across the street here, Sunset, and punch the car, we need the shot'," the 72-year-old actor reportedly told during a recent interview.

The Terminator which counts among one of the most celebrated film franchises across the world also stars Linda Hamilton in the lead. The actress who will also be seen starring in the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate during a recent interview had revealed that they "didn't even own the car!" for the shoot.

Shedding light on the same, Arnold Schwarzenegger said, "So I walked across the street and looked Terminator-esque and then looked around and - boom - punched through the window and that's the way we shot the first movie."

Linda Hamilton is returning to the big screen with Terminator: Dark Fate

Linda Hamilton had left Los Angeles some years back to shift to New Orleans leaving behind her acting career. While admitting that it was not easy for her to make a comeback to acting and reprise her role as Sarah Connor, she reportedly said, "It wasn't the script but just the thought of returning to this whole, big thing again after living such a quiet, normal life for so long."

"Then there is the thought of being compared to yourself as you were back then. That's not easy for anyone but in the end, I knew I had to do it," she continued.

Terminator: Dark Fate

Science-fiction action film Terminator: Dark Fate, will be the sixth installment in the Terminator franchise, has been directed by filmmaker Tim Miller. Besides Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, the film also stars Natalia Reyes, Diego Boneta, and Gabriel Luna in the lead. It is backed by James Cameron and David Ellison and is all set to hit the theatres on November 1, 2019.
