'Avengers: Endgame' screenwriter explains Ant-Man's reaction to 'Back to the Future' scene

Avengers: Endgame is written by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, joined by screenwriter Bob Gale. Recently, Bob Gale, who is also responsible for writing 'back to future' plot spoke with MovieWeb. Talking about same, Bob Gale said that during team's discussion over Back to Future scene, several ideas popped up regarding what can be done in future scene. After which filmmakers realised that y have to deal with viewer's kwledge of time travel in 2019, as film was released in that year. And so makers decided to put that scene where Ant-Man says, "What do you mean? Back to Future’s bull****?".

During interview, screenwriter also me a sarcastic comment on reference of Back To Future in Avengers: Endgame. He ded that Ant-Man says ‘You mean Back to Future’s bull****?’ and at end of day avengers end up going back into first Avengers movie and into earlier Thor movies, so it really is kind of like Back to Future. He furr explained that team literally h to invoke Back to Future in movie at several points so that y could say to viewers that se are different rules than Back to Future. In same interview, Bob Gale also told entertainment portal that one of things he was proud of was that team was able to explain time travel in a way that even a nine-year-old can understand it.
