Barbie box office collection day 4: Film scores best ever Monday for Warner Bros

Barbie has not just taken over Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer at the box office but has also broken a 15 year old record held by another Nolan film.

Barbie opened in theatres worldwide on July 21 much to the delight of those looking forward to the film. It outperformed Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer globally. Now, in the latest development, the Margot Robbie-led film has scored the best Monday for a Warner Bros.movie in the US. It surpassed another Nolan film in the process.

Barbie gives Warner Bros. its best-ever Monday 


Barbie has been minting big numbers for Warner Bros. It has completely overtaken Oppenheimer at the United States box office. It set a record on Monday, July 24. The film raked in  $26 million on its fourth day. This is the best-ever Monday  for a Warner Bros film. As of day 4, Barbie has collected $188 million at the box office. With the international markets collectively bringing in $194.3 million, Barbie's grand total stands at $382 million.

 The Dark Knight previously held the record for best Best Monday as far as Warner Bros. films are concerened.  The superhero film, also directed by Christopher Nolan, had released back in 2008. This essentially means Barbie has broken a 15-year old record.

Barbie has broken other records as well. The film had the biggest opening weekend of the year, collecting $162 million. This record was previously held by The Super Mario Bros. Movie which collected $146 million. Barbie also became the best opener for a film helmed by a female director. This record was previously held by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel (2019) which had opened at $153 million. Barbie is currently running in theatres worldwide.
