Barbie V Oppenheimer Box Office Collection Day 15: Barbenheimer fever on the wane in India

Barbie and Oppenheimer received a good reception from Indian audiences after releasing on July 21. While Barbie has emerged as a massive hit globally, closing in on the $1 billion mark globally, Oppenheimer is inching towards the $500 million mark despite its 3-hour runtime time. Here’s how the films are faring at the Indian box office on Day 15.

• In India, Oppenheimer had twice as many screens as Barbie.
• Oppenheimer's tickets in India were also sold at a much higher price, despite its non-franchise nature.
• Christopher Nolan's Hollywood movie has already grossed Rs 100 crore in the country.

Oppenheimer's smooth sailing at India box office 

Oppenheimer’s craze in India is on the wane. After last Friday, its daily box office collection ranged between Rs 2.8 crore to Rs 2.4 crore. On its third Friday, as per Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 2.60 crore, still showing signs of life. It remains to be seen whether the subsequent few days will prove to be beneficial for the film like its last weekend was.

The total box office haul for the film stands at Rs 105.30 crore in India in 15 days. Globally, Oppenheimer has minted $478.8 million, as per Deadline. 

Barbie down to less than Rs 1 crore in India

While Christopher Nolan's Oppenhemier is basking its tremendous box office success, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has not been able to taste that level of success in India. As per Sacnilk, Barbie collected Rs 70 lakhs on its Day 15. The box office figures are on a steady decline.

The film has collected Rs 39.15 crore in India so far. On the global level, Barbie is reigning supreme over Oppenheimer, with its total collection reaching $916.1 million.
