'Candyman' director Nia wants to scare audience psychologically by 'getting in head'
'Candyman' director recently appeared in a panel at the Nightstream Horror Film Festival where she expressed how she wants the scare her audience out.

While Nia DaCosta's horror film Candyman has been pushed ahe to 2021 in wake of COVID-19 pandemic, director of spooky-flick has been busy hyping fans up about what she has in stores for m next year. Candyman has been bankrolled under universal and MGM along with Acemy Award-winning writer Jordan Peele penning down script. Thus, it seems that film is a perfect recipe for being an entertaining horror experience for audience members. However, Nia DaCosta recently appeared in a panel at virtual Nightstream Horror Film Festival and stated that just scaring audience is not her only goal with Candyman, and that aims to get inside he of viewers.

Candyman director on her goal with film
director, during her panel at Nightstream Horror Film Festival, stated that if a viewer goes back home after watching flick and gets weirded or freaked out after looking at ir own rash, bump, or mosquito bite, n she would consider her job to have been accomplished as a filmmaker. She expressed that getting into he of viewer's mind is indeed her end-goal and that's what her movie is all about. Nia Dacosta aims at 'viscerally disturbing' viewer at psychological level and not just at surface level.

Candyman plot revolves around being a 'spiritual sequel' to original Candyman film from 1992. However, this time around film will have more gore and graphic sequences. Back in February 2020, when film was still scheduled to release in current year, Universal Pictures h hosted film's trailer preview event in presence of press. During Q&A session, Nia was asked if film will keep it light on gore, however, director h opposite views about same.

Nia revealed that she discussed possibilities of implementing graphic scenes with writer-producer Jordan Peele. Nia revealed that while Peele likes to not venture out to graphic violence territory, she aims at doing it differently and showing those sequences without a PG-13 filter. In conclusion, director h joked about how re are some sequences in film which will leave viewers disturbed.
