Twitter was in chaos when a fake BBC account falsely claimed that Daniel Rcliffe of Harry Potter fame is first-ever celebrity to be contacted with Coronavirus. chaos was fuelled when a fake Twitter account under name @BBCNewsTonight tweeted that Daniel Rcliffe is infected with Coronavirus. tweet re, “BREAKING: Daniel Rcliffe tests positive for coronavirus. actor is said to be first famous person to be publicly confirmed." tweet has w been deleted and account has been terminated for breaking community guidelines and codes.

However, tweet was live for more than seven hours and was also shared multiple times. followers of account thought it's true and shared it over seven hundred times on Twitter. account h a reach of only 125 followers but retweeting act by Maggie Haberman of New York Times and Blake Hounshell of Politico increased engment of Twitteratis. However, both journalists have taken down ir tweets and wrote an apology to followers, who were shocked at news of Daniel Rcliffe getting Coronavirus.
