Did you ever imagine Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show getting a Punjabi tadka? However, this has happened for good. Recently, a popular Punjabi singer was invited to an international talk show where he not only sang his hit tracks but also performed bhangra, adding another feather to his already full cap or should I say turban. Speaking of which, Fallon has shared several videos of the singer singing Born to Shine and GOAT on the stage.
Diljit Dosanjh sets the stage ablaze with his bhangra moves
Fallon Tonight's official Instagram page shared a set of two videos in which Diljit can be seen crooning and dancing to his hit track. Dressed in a white and black traditional ensemble, in the first video, the Punjabi singer can be seen singing G.O.A.T. However, he changed the lyrics a bit. Pointing at Fallon, he sang, “Hollywood vich jine stars hai unade vich baitha sardar goriye”. The earlier lyrics referred to Bollywood and Khans.
Soon after the page dropped the video, fans flooded with comments. TV actress Smriti Khanna wrote, "Jimmy Fallon show pe aag laga di". Another user wrote, "GOAT! Embracing an Indian attire. Unlike other punjabi artists breaking on stage".
In another video, Diljit can be seen performing his hit track Born to Shine. "@diljitdosanjh makes his US late night TV debut to perform Born to Shine!" read the caption. A user in the comment section wrote, "First indian singer to perform bhangra on an international talk show, such a proud moment." A user, who was present at the show, shared his experience and wrote, "I was there, best experience ever PANJABI AA GYE OYEE".
