Festivals are some of the most lucrative times for filmmakers to release their projects. While sometimes, a film may be lucky to get a solo release, but it does not happen all the time. There have been various times when two or more films clashed at the box office, especially at the end of a year when festivals are lined up. Diwali 2010

Golmaal 3 VS Action Replayy

The two movie of comedy genre faced each other. Golmaal 3 was a multi-starrer comedy film in the Golmaal franchise. Action Replayy stars Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aditya Roy Kapoor. Golmaal 3 was hit while Action Replayy failed to perform at the box office.

Diwali 2012

Jab Tak Hai Jaan VS Son Of Sardaar

The two films had A-listers starring in them, therefore generating a good buzz. Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma star in Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla stars in Son Of Sardaar. Both films received good response and did equally well at the box office. Salman Khan appeared in a cameo in Son Of Sardaar.

Diwali 2016

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil VS Shivaay

Two different genre of movies were out on the festival. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was romantic drama. Shivaay stars Ajay Devgn, Erika Kaar, Sayyeshaa and Abigail Eames was an action drama. According to film analysts, both the film performed well at the box office.

Diwali 2017

Golmaal Again VS Secret Superstar

This was Ajay Devgn’s third clashed on the festival. Golmaal Again was a multi-starrer comedy film in the Golmaal franchise. Aamir Khan and Zaria Wasim starrer Secret Superstar was a comedy-drama movie. According to reports, Golmaal Again performed well at the box office. Secret Superstar did average at the Indian box office but did very well in China.

Diwali 2019

Housefull 4 VS Saand Ki Aankh VS Made In China

Three movies are clashing this Diwali. Housefull 4 is a much-hyped film, while Saand Ki Aankh and Made In China received positive reviews from there earlier screening. All the movies star big names from the industry. The verdict of the films will be predicted after their first-week collection.
