Dwayne Rock Johnson is set to reprise his role as the Polynesian demigod Maui in the upcoming live-action remake of Moana. Thomas Kail will be directing the film and Lin-Manuel Miranda will work on the music, including new original songs fro the live-action drama. Now, pictures from the sets has gone viral on social media.

In the recent photos, Dwayne Rock Johnson has fully transformed into the ironic demigod Maui for the live adaptation of Moana. In the picture, Johnson is seen wearing Maui’s ensemble, which includes the leaf skirt, tribal tattoos with intricate designs and voluminous hair that completes the look.

Fans were in awe and are excited for the film, as how it will turn out. Some even compared it to the iconic role of Scorpion King he played in the film of the same name and Mummy franchise also. One user wrote, “Scorpion King back, Another user wrote, “I think this one will be fine”. “He’s wearing a different body suit, not his typical Rock muscle body suit.”

Moana is set tin the ancient Polynesia and tells the story of Moana, the determined and strong-willed daughter of a chief of coastal village who is chosen by the ocean itself. The animated film in which the characters has been voiced b Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Scherzinger, Alan Tudyk, Rose Matafeo, Auli’i Cravalho and Temuera Morrison among others.

The second instalment of Moana will be releasing in the theatres on November 27. The film is directed by Dana Ledoux Miller, Jason Hand and David Derrick Jr among others.
