1. Season 1, Episode 1: Meredith meets Derek

One of the most loved Mer-Der scenes for the fans of the show has to be when Meredith gets to know that she slept with attending Derek Shepherd. Their confrontation in the famous staircase is hilarious and memorable for all of its fans.

2. Season 2, Episode 15: Ellis Grey's death

Ellis Grey was more than Meredith's mother she was a pioneering doctor in the TV series. But Meredith was always torn between admiring her and constantly being nagged by her for not being brilliant. So when Ellis finally dies the realisation of her mother hits Meredith. She herself calls the time of death but ends up feeling hurt.

3. Season 6: Donating her liver to Thatcher for Lexie

‘The guy who used to pour my cereal’, that is how Meredith Grey describes the reason she donates a part of her liver to Thatcher, her estranged father. But Meredith's real motive was for her step-sister Lexie Grey. Meredith's personality does not allow her to be open about her feelings, but this gesture by her just proved her love for her close ones.

4. Season 8, Episode 10: Meredith adopts Zola

Zola's entry in Meredith's life was no less than a fresh breath of air for Dr. Grey’s life. Meredith got fired because of altering the Alzheimer’s trail and her relationship with Derek was also facing its own set of hardships. Zola was a new and necessary chapter in Meredith Grey’s life.

5. Season 11, Episode 21: Derek dies

Derek Shepherd’s death was one of the most difficult to digest scenes for Grey’s Anatomy fans. It was as shocking to the audience as it was to his wife Dr Meredith Grey. Meredith Grey telling her brain dead husband that it is okay to go with Chasing Cars in the background was a heart-breaking moment and an end to the Meredith and Derek chapter.
