Emma Stone Talks About Her Struggle With Anxiety

As per a report in E! Online, she had her first panic attack when she was just 7-years-old.

As several Hollywood celebrities have recently opened up about their battle with depression, anxiety, and other disorders, ‘La La Land’ actress Emma Stone too shared her story. The 29-year-old actress reportedly spoke about her lifelong struggle with anxiety and panic attacks. According to media reports, in a recent interview, the 'Maniac' actress spoke about her very first panic attack and how the "terrifying" kept repeating itself over a few years.

As per a report in E! Online, she had her first panic attack when she was just 7-years-old.

"After first grade I went into second grade, I had my first panic attack. It was really terrifying", the award-winning actress said.

The 'Superbad' actress narrated the incident saying, "I was at a friend's house, and all of a sudden I was convinced the house was on fire and it was burning down. I was just sitting in her bedroom and obviously, the house wasn't on fire, but there was nothing in me that didn't think we were going to die".

The Academy Award-winning actress further added that such incidents continued to occur for over two years thereby making her school life difficult. Following these incidents, she seeked professional help and was later diagnosed with generalised anxiety and panic disorder. The actress then opted for therapy.

Emma Stone, who has been ranked as the highest paid actress of 2017, also discussed acting and improvisation helps her deal with anxiety and how "sharing" and "making mistakes" is a big trigger for her.

Emma is all set to star in an upcoming music video for Paul McCartney. Meanwhile, she is also currently promoting her latest film, "The Favourite" that was also screened at the 56th New York Film Festival. Set in the early 18th century England, this much-awaited film also features Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman in pivotal roles.
