In a special win, Will Smith won the outstanding writing for a drama series for the show Slow Horses. The writer snubbed The Crown, Mr & Mrs Smith, Shogun and Fallout to win the honour. He won the award for the episode ‘Negotiating with Tigers’. However, it was his winning speech that grabbed attention.

While accepting the award the writer quipped, “Relax, despite my name, I come in peace.” This was a jibe at the Aladdin actor who infamously slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards. His speech is now going viral.

The 94th Academy Awards has gone down in the annals of Hollywood history, not as the celebrated night of the Oscars, but as the awards ceremony that saw Will Smith slap comedian Chris Rock, live. Rock, who was hosting the event, cracked a joke at the expense of Jada Pinkett Smith's alopecia, comparing her to G.I. Jane. In response, Will Smith walked up on stage and slapped the comedian across the face followed by the line, "Keep my wife's name out of your damn mouth". Smith issued an apology to Rock the following day.
