Spin-off to Game of Thrones series, House of Dragons has received a 10-episode, straight-to-series order on Tuesday afteron, on October 29.  news of House of Dragons spin-off came just hours after news broke that HBO anunced cancellation of a previous highly-anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off series starring Naomi Watts.

Emmy Winner Sapochnik returns to direct spin-off

Emmy-winning 'Game of Thrones' director Miguel Sapochnik will return to direct pilot as well as additional episodes that will be co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal.  three will serve as executive producers alongside Vince Gerardis. project will mark HBO's first official follow-up to "Game of Thrones," which won best drama series at Emmys back in September.

'House of Dragon' is indeed focused on formation of House Targaryen, a family line that eventually produced mor of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, however, it is highly unlikely that Clarke will be appearing on show as prequel series is set 300 years before events of Game of Thrones.
