Henry Cavill compares ' Witcher' with 'Game of Thrones'

During a podcast with a news portal, Henry Cavill was asked what resonated with him about Witcher world. He said that he is a big fan of fantasy and loves genre. actor mentioned that his d used to re books to him before he could re. He stated that it is just slightly different from aver fantasy genre. Cavill said that re is something a bit grimmer about series, and he has been told that is Polish way. So it has a heavy Polish influence. He ted that show has a harder edge which he found kind of fascinating. Superman actor explained that it is in same way as in Game of Thrones. In GOT,  audience did t kw who was going to die. Similarly, in  Witcher, y cant anticipate what is going to happen, because it is quite a grim world.

Henry Cavill was asked what was it like to be in a grim world and why did he t smile much in Witcher. Answering question, he said that Geralt does t smile much, t in show. He mentioned that when he does, even in books, it is called a “hideous smile”. actor stated that re is a real grimness to it, but re are moments of light and moments of care and loving and strong familial bonds for people who are t actually family. He ted that those moments seem all brighter for darkness in world.

Talking more about his “hideous smile”, Henry Cavill said that re are a lot of people who eir thinks smile means he is hideous, or it is just an ugly smile. He stated that he does t kw what direct Polish translation is, but it is one of those things where he always saw it, t necessarily as person being hideous, but as intent with smile.
