Hope R-rating for 'Deadpool 3' enters MCU over time: Writers

Depool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese hope Merc with a Mouth will continue to live in R-rated universe y created as well as a possible crossover with Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). writer duo, who are in for potential third sequel with Ryan Reylds returning as titular antihero, said project is still up in air.
" plan and hope is that Marvel allows us to continue Depool in his R-rated universe that he lives in and also, hopefully over time, we get to play a little bit in MCU sandbox as well," Wernick told io9 website.

Reese ded it is "all undetermined" for w as y are finding out right entry point for character. Marvel's a rich universe of both heroes and also, wonderfully, villains. So we would love to see Depool enter that universe in a fun way. It's just about figuring out how and when," he said. y also revealed "transition" of Fox to Disney has "delayed" process as top brass is trying to figure out direction MCU will take.

"(Plus) Ryan is very busy and transition has delayed everything because you just don't kw. (Marvel Studios) is figuring out next version of MCU obviously and that's its own beast. n you throw Depool in re and X-Men and stuff, and it's crazy," Reese said.

Wernick said Depool 3 is a special project for m and one that deserves a "wonderful and great" idea. "We will continue to tre texts back and forth with Ryan until we land on it, and n my guess is we'll be off writing soon after that," he ded.

Previously, Reylds, who co-wrote Depool 2 with Reese and Wernick, said franchise will go in a "completely different direction" with third movie.
