Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, scribes of Marvel tentpole "Avengers: Endgame", say film lived up to definition of cinema as it gave audiences worldwide a "collective, emotional experience". writer-duo are latest figures from Marvel family to defend superhero films that were recently criticised and labelled as "me parks" by legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese.

director's comments were followed by Francis Ford Coppola calling Marvel movies "despicable". At Acemy's Goverrs Awards, Markus and McFeely offered ir response to raging debate.
