According to reports, Shining actor had disagreements with director Tim Burton when y were shooting for DC film Batman, back in year 1989. Reportedly, Nicholson did t like earlier looks of character and wanted changes in his look to make it look less ''gaudy'' and less “campy”. Nicholson did t want to portray Joker from comic books.

Fortunately, for fans of actor, he got final say in this matter and after a long discussion with makeup team and Burton, y decided to tweak look a tad bit, reports say. Nicholson wanted his character’s hair to garner less attention and look less shiny, whereas director wanted it to look bright green.

actor also made sure that he adapts humorous features of Joker and made director confident about his portal of Joker. He also reportedly stated that role was quite challenging to him as his makeup involved a spirit gum, to which actor was allergic. film went on to become a big hit at box-offices and paved way for sequels. It went on to become first instalment to WB’s first Batman film series. film also featured Michael Keaton, who played role of titular character.
