Jane Fonda reveals the reason why she will not be buying clothes anymore & it's noble

Grace and Frankie actor Jane Fonda recently pledged during a publication’s podcast special that she will not be buying anymore clothes, in order to reduce the amount of waste created, resulting in climate change. Fonda was also been recently arrested during her constant protest against lack of government action to curb climate change. Jane Fonda swears off buying clothes anymore

Jane Fonda, recently in a publication’s podcast, stated that she will not be buying clothes anymore. Fonda also spoke about the reason for the decision. In the podcast, Jane Fonda stated that the red coat that she has been sporting during her protests every Friday was bought on sale by her. She then went to confirm that it is the last piece of clothing she plans to buy in order to curb climate change.

In the podcast, Jane Fonda also spoke about the harmful effects of consumerism. She was quoted by a media portal stating that there is an urgent need to cut back on consumerism. She further stated that if she is going to talk about climate change then she also needs to follow through and walk the talk. She said that it was weird to walk through the store from where she bought her iconic red coat and not buy something else. But the Grace and Frankie actor was also aware that if she does not follow through, people will call her out.

Jane Fonda has been urging US lawmakers to implement policies to build climate-just future. She has been protesting every Friday in Washington DC since September and plans to continue till the year ends. Actor Catherine Keener has also been supporting Fonda’s initiative. Jane Fonda further commented on the publication’s podcast regarding the urgency for climate change to be addressed.

Fonda said that we have spent several decades writing speeches and getting the word out about what science has to say regarding the issue. We have also marched, rallied, and played nice, but it has not been working. She added that we only have 11 years left, so we need to set the stakes high and mobilize and put ourselves on the line. She concluded saying that we have to engage in civil disobedience and risk getting arrested in order to get the message through.
