Jim Parrack of True Blood fame joins spinoff project 9-1-1: Lone Star

The 9-1-1 family is expanding as True Blood star Jim Parrack has joined the cast of the forthcoming spinoff project 9-1-1: Lone Star helmed by Rob Lowe.

The 9-1-1 family is expanding as True Blood star Jim Parrack has joined the cast of the forthcoming spinoff project "9-1-1: Lone Star," which is being helmed by Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler. 

The Lone Star

Made and produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, the show stars Rob Lowe known for roles in "Parks and Recreation," "The West Wing" as a refined New York firefighter who, alongside his grown-up child, moves to Austin and must attempt to adjust saving the individuals who are vulnerable to tackling the issues in his very own life.

Parrack will play Judd Ryder, a deep-rooted Texas fireman who has been through a big tragedy. Ryder is a character who does not talk much, long on activity and for the most part suspicious of people coming from outside, particularly newcomer Captain Owen Strand (Lowe), who moves from an NYC firehouse. Judd is hitched to 9-1-1 call administrator Grace Ryder.

The series is produced by 20th Century Fox in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk television. Murphy, Falchuk, and Minear are makers and producers on the series. Lowe will fill in as a co-producer on the series.
Parrack has also played the character of Hoyt in Actual Blood and was seen in Showtime's limited episodes series called Break At Dannemora.

Parrack showed up in HBO's second season of The Deuce with Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco, whom he made his Broadway with, in the revival of John Steinbeck's 

Mice And Men, co-featuring Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester. His recent appearances include Suicide Squad, Anger and The Adderall Diaries.

A 20th Century Fox production

Lone Star hopes to capitalize on the achievement of Fox's 9-1-1, which returns for its third season in the second half of September. Lone Star is set to make a big appearance over two evenings on January 19 and January 20. The series was made by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuck, and Tim Minear. Each of the three are producers also, with Lowe filling in as co-producer. Twentieth Century Fox Television will produce in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Television.
