According to a recent report by British tabloid Mirror, Joaquin Phoenix might return as Joker in coming future. actor could land a whopping $50 million offer to reprise crown prince of crime in two projects. Phoenix initially felt Joker was a standalone movie, but he has changed his tune w, a source told tabloid. He wants to play character again, despite controversies that came with release last year. source stated that deal is still being negotiated but scripts are being penned down and Joaquin Phoenix is very engd with it.
It is reported that Warner Bros. Pictures was “as shocked as anyone” with success of Joker in 2019. w y are planning to make two sequels in next four years, with a long-term commitment to Joaquin Phoenix and his Joker director Todd Phillips along with producer Brley Cooper. It is said to be about getting Oscar-Winning star to accept terms and it could result in biggest pay cheque of his career by far.

Joker was a standalone film in DC Extended Universe (DCEU). It gained attention from time when a glimpse of Joaquin Phoenix as titular character was revealed. At 76th Venice International Film Festival, it won Golden Lion and caught eyes of audiences ahe of its October release. When it hit atres, movie received great responses and reached $1 billion mark at global box office, becoming only R-rated film to do so, as of today.
