Joker release date gets preponed to October 2 in Indian cinemas

Warner Bros. latest offering, Joker, with Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role, will now be released in Indian cinemas 2 days earlier on Oct 2 instead of Oct 4

Warner Bros. latest offering, Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, will w be released in Indian cinemas 2 days earlier on October 2. It's original release date that was scheduled on October 4. Keeping in mind that it will be a national holiday, Joker will be clashing with Bollywood thriller titled War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff and a film from south titled Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

Origin Story

Being helmed by Hangover fame director, Todd Phillips, feature film goes down a new path by tracing Joker's origin story. In film, Phoenix plays character of Arthur Miller, an unsuccessful comic who's mental instability leads him down on a path of crime and violence.

Apart from Joaquin, movie has a stellar cast with likes of Bill Camp, Brett Cullen, Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham. movie will act as a stand-alone story and will t have any reference to caped crusader aka Batman.

From time Joker got an 8-minute standing ovation at Venice film festival and was awarded top hour at film festival, i.e. Golden Lion, it has created an early Oscar frenzy.

Questioned about violence

Joaquin Phoenix recently stormed out of an interview after he was questioned on level of violence movie contained and if it would incite people to be more violent or t. Two scenes, in particular, have been highlighted with one showing Joker shooting his fellow mate at a point-blank range and or showcasing a riot like situation ensuing among his supporters. This led to many of critics wondering wher film would showcase violence in same wat as that of Taxi Driver and A Clockwork Orange.

Warner Bros. has many or films in wings such as spiff to Suicide Squad titled Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 2, Batman starring Robert Pattinson and a sequel to DC's most successful film Aquaman.
