Jordan Peele’s Us wins Best Film award by AAFCA

African American Film Critics Association is world’s largest group of black film critics. AAFCA gives various awards for excellence in film industry. Recently, AAFCA anunced list of winners of ir awards this year.

Jordan Peele’s movie Us won Best Film award by AAFCA for 2019. Jordan Peele also won hour for 'Best Director' for same film. Lupita Nyong’o played lead in this film and her performance was also applauded by audience and critics. Her performance in Us was recognised and she won award for Best Actress for 2019. Jordan Peele was also recognised two years ago for his movie Get Out. film picked four major hours, namely best film, best director, best screenplay, and  best actor award to Daniel Kaluuya.

AAFCA’s or awardees

Eddie Murphy was also recognised for his performance in Dolemite Is My Name; he won 'Best Actor' Award by AAFCA. Da’Vine Joy Randolph also won 'Best Supporting Actress' award for her performance for same Netflix comedy. Actor Jamie Foxx won 'Best Supporting Actor' award for his role in Just Mercy. Waves was ar critically acclaimed movie of this year. Waves actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Taylor Russell both won 'We See You' award.

Netflix’s documentary titled Black Godfar, a film about legendary music executive Clarence Avant, won best documentary award this year. South Korean director Bong Joon Ho’s celebrated film Parasite won Best Foreign Film award by AAFCA. Parasite also took home best screenplay award. In AAFCA Inaugural TV Awards, When y See Us dominated all major categories.
