American singers Jonh Legend and Kelly Clarkson are reportedly reuniting for a Christmas tune but with a twist as they have recorded an updated version of the Christmas hit Baby, it's Cold Outside. The song which was written back in 1944 by Frank Loesser takes the form of back-and-forth conversation between a male and a female has, however, raised questions about consent. Legend has updated the lyrics with Natasha Rothwell, the writer of an HBO show Insecure

According to an international media outlet, the song is fun and swinging as the original. Its newfound sensitivity feels genuine and not performative. The song goes like, “I really can't stay,” to which a man responds: "But baby, it's cold outside." In another part of a song, a woman is heard singing lines like "Say what's in this drink?", "The answer is no" and "I've gotta get home." "What will my friends think ..." Clarkson sings in the updated version. "I think they should rejoice," Legend says. "... if I have one more drink?" "It's your body and your choice."

Legend responds to Trump's insults

Recently John Legend was all over the news as President Donald Trump took to Twitter to attack model Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend. The series of tweets took place after MSNBC aired an episode on the criminal justice reform featuring John Legend on September 08. The US President called Teigen, John Legend's “filthy-mouthed wife” on one of his many tweets. He also claimed that he and other Republicans should be given more credit for signing the First Step Act. The US President went after John Legend by calling him a boring musician. In response, Legend tweeted, “Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC..”
