Road to Perdition is a 2002 American crime film and Daniel's role as Connor Rooney is perhaps one of his best negative roles to date. The movie tells the story of a Mob family during the Great Depression. Connor is one of the members of that family and is the son of the Mob Boss Michael Sullivan, played by Tom Hanks. Daniel's amazing performance engrosses the audience into the film and convinces them of Connor's arrogance, brutality and self-obsessed personality.

Dream House

The 2011 phycological thriller Dream House saw Daniel play the role of Will Atenton, a successful editor who leaves his job to spend more time with his family and write a book. However, a series of odd events at the house cause Will to realize that he is actually a man named Peter Ward, whose family was killed five years back and he himself was shot in the head. The movie is both thrilling and tragic at the same time. Daniel's role as the broken and mentally unstable Peter Ward is certainly one of his most engaging and heartfelt performances.
