Featuring Oscar winner Natalie Portman in le, film is inspired by real-life story of astronaut Lisa vak who me helines in 2007 for attempted kidnapping of her ex-lover's new girlfriend.

film, which also stars Jon Hamm, Zazie Beetz and Dan Stevens, released in US on Friday to mixed reviews. Talking to IndieWire, Hawley, who has seen success on small screen with shows such as Legion and Fargo, said he took an "urthodox approach" with film.

"It will bump some people and, if you resist it, you will tice it and it will take you out of movie. Automatically, it's t a movie for everybody. But I'd rar make something great for somebody than something good for everybody," director said said.
Hawley said he finds it "exhilarating" to take "huge creative risk" with his work.
"I get to tell a lot of stories for small screen, and if I was going to tell one for big screen, (I thought), Why? What is it? What is it about movie atre experience? Can movie atre itself be a tool that I use to help increase impact of story?'
"When I started to think about it that way, that got exciting, this psychological sort of magic realism journey of really bringing you inside of her eyes," he ded.
