Maleficent: Mistress of Evil starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning is set to release on October 18 on Friday. The excitement around this second instalment is immense. But Maleficent is not the first Disney film that has been inspired by a real-life location. Many inspirations from real castles featured in Disney films that are super dreamy in real-life. 1. Snow White: Alcazar Castle in Spain
Snow White while enjoying her time with the seven dwarfs the castle that inspired this animated tale’s castle is accessible. The Alcazar Castle in Segovia, Spain holds a special place in the hearts of Disney fanatics. Many sources also suggest that the castle that can be seen in the animated film Sleeping Beauty has also been inspired by Alcazar Castle.

2. Brave: Dunnottar Castle in Scotland

3. The Little Mermaid: Chillon Castle in Switzerland

The birthplace of Rapunzel is inspired from the Mont Saint-Michel castle in France. This castle in Normandy, France was built in the 11th century and currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city.
