'Legendary' judges Megan Thee Stallion & Jameela Jamil talks about learning about ballroom

Two of show's judges, Jameela Jamil and Megan e Stallion, told a virtual panel during an eventful Friday night at annual ATX Television Festival, that y were t really acquainted with it when y first got involved eir.

Jameela Jamil during interview revealed that she grabbed opportunity because re is t eugh representation in this culture. She furr went on to say that most of art loved in this world, most of music, dance, fashion and langu has been siphoned from ballroom. She also thinks that it is very important that world must kw exactly where all of it came from. Jameela Jamil furr said that she came on board as a supportive outsider, who was in window to learn with audience.

underground ballroom scene was initially founded in New York City by people from Black and Lati LGBTQ+. Decades later, Legendary takes its influence from group, where teams, kwn as "houses," participate in numerous intricate dance-offs where y show ir unique twists on dance and fashion so that y can gain "legendary" status, hence term.

Toger with Jamil and Megan, judges include fashion designer Law Roach and Leiomy Maldonado, a pillar of ballroom community.

Jameela Jamil went on to admit that viewers might t be too familiar with underground ballroom scene. However, she added that she and Megan e Stallion were both learning " ways of ballroom” as y went.

She said that y're re just to pay hom to community, and just make sure y're telling right story. She also said it wasn't just a matter of glitter and sequins and fears and shade. It's all about love and heart of ballroom.

Megan e Stallion also went on to say that when she began doing her homework, it blew her mind because she realised passion and hard work that goes behind it. She also said that things that everybody stands for and what y represent, she felt like she saw herself in that. She also said that all this made her appreciate community even more. Legendary's first three episodes are available w for streaming exclusively on HBO Max. Every Wednesday new episodes will be released.
