Natalie Portman reveals 1st encounter with King Charles and hilarious Star Wars questioned he asked

Natalie Portman, popular for Black Swan movie, took a trip down memory lane when she portrayed Padmé Amidala in filmmaker George Lucas' prequel trilogy of the iconic Star Wars franchise. During the chat show titled Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, the Oscar-winning star, Portman spoke about reprising the role of Padmé Amidala and also shared an interesting anecdote from the premiere of The Phantom Menace in 1999.
Natalie Portman shares memorable anecdote about Prince Charles
At the age of 18, Portman had an interaction with the British royal family. She recalled a memorable exchange of words with Prince Charles, inquiring about her involvement in the original Star Wars films, to which Portman humorously replied, "I remember Prince Charles; he was then Prince Charles, asked me if I was in the originals. I was like, 'No, I'm 18!' But he was very friendly."
Despite the absence of any official invitations to return to the Star Wars saga, Portman remains openly enthusiastic about the possibility. Describing her experience as nothing short of amazing, Portman explained, “It was the first time I worked digitally. I don’t think anyone was shooting that way then. It was my first time working with a green screen. It was a whole new set of skills to pick up and a whole new world to enter."
As per reports, the challenge of Portman’s character Padmé’s demise in Revenge of the Sixth film has complicated the possibility of a return to the franchise again.

Currently, Taika Waititi, the filmmaker who has directed films like Jojo Rabbit and Next Goal Wins, is reportedly directing a new installment in the Star Wars cinematic universe, reports Variety.
In an interview with GQ magazine, Portman discussed that Waititi, who had previously worked with Natalie Portman in Thor: Love and Thunder, had extended an invitation to her in 2022, to join the cast of his forthcoming Star Wars venture.
Meanwhile, Portman’s romance drama titled May December is now available for streaming on Netflix. Directed by Todd Haynes, it also stars Charles Melton, Piper Curda and Julianne Moore in pivotal roles.
