Natalie Portman talks about breast cancer plot line in new 'Thor' film

Natalie Portman has opened up on her character with breast cancer storyline in the upcoming Thor film even though not much is revealed about the theme or plot.

Natalie Portman has opened up about her character which suffers from breast cancer according to the storyline in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder. Not many details have been revealed about the theme or plot of the fourth Thor film, however, the 38-year-old actress has expressed her excitement over her role as Jane Foster in the popular Marvel film franchise. This is going to be the first-ever titular role to be played by a woman in Thor. "I really don't know anything about it. I haven't seen anything, but I've heard the same rumours as you have, and it's exciting to think about," international media quoted the actor.

'It's just very rare'

While speaking at LA Dance Project's 8th annual fundraising gala at downtown gallery space Hauser, Wirth & Schimmel on October 19, she continued, "It's just very rare that these kinds of big entertainment films look at more serious, real-life issues,". The director of the film, Taika Waititi spoke about the storyline in July this year. He said, "It is incredible, full of emotion, love and thunder and introduces for the first time female Thor". He added "I think that's a really powerful part of the books. I think it's really cool that she's fighting this thing and there's two battles going on. Personally I really love that storyline. But whether it ends up in the film is yet to be seen".

Marvel To Relaunch Thor, Iron Man, And Guardians Of The Galaxy Comics

Marvels fans are expecting a lot of surprises in 2020 in the aftermath of the three new comic books series re-launched at the ongoing New York Comic-Con. As reported by foreign media sources, 'Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing' panel, touted as the largest pop culture event, recently announced the relaunch of the comics for some of its most famed characters such as Thor, Iron Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Reportedly, it will be slightly different from the previous volumes in the newly announced comics. The re-launch of these comic characters was unexpected to many of the Marvel fans.

The new series of Thor will see Asgard once again fighting new threats coming his way. The big name in writing at Marvel, Donny Cates and the Deadpool artist Nic Klein will be launching Thor again after the conclusion of Jason Aaron's storyline of Thor in the final issue of King Thor end of the year 2019. There are a lot of expectations from the Venom writer to take forward the superhit series Thor. It is obvious that with this new responsibility, Cates will step down from the current post as the writer Guardians of the Galaxy which will also see a relaunch.
