Oscar Isaac believes re were never expectations from fans about he portrays his "Star Wars" character of Poe Dameron, which he said was a relief.
actor first essayed role in 2015's " Force Awakens", which he followed up with 2017's " Last Jedi".
In an interview with Variety, Isaac said that since his character was new, re was less pressure on him in terms of performance.
"I never felt that re was se big fan expectations for Poe. People felt certain things for him, but re wasn't necessarily like, I hope y better do this with Poe in next one.' So I never really felt that so much," actor said.
But after success of " Force Awakens", Isaac said he felt self-conscious while working on second part.
"I think first one, I was able to do trick that I kind of always do, which is really put myself in mentality that, well, one might see this and it's t about that and really, it's just about what's happening right w.' re's control over what it's going to be.
"It was difficult in second one to kind of maintain that illusion, after seeing how massive it was. So (I was) battling with self-consciousness, and alrey, you kw, re's something about se kinds of movies that invite one to be even more self-conscious, because re's just so much looking out to, you kw, looking back into it, like, what is this tone? What are you supposed to be doing?" actor ded.
Isaac reprises character in upcoming installment " Rise of Skywalker", which releases worldwide on December 20.
