Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt wants to reunite with Tom Cruise for Edge of Tomorrow 2

Despite being recent competitors with Oppenheimer and Mission Impossible 7, Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise delivered the 2014 hit Edge of Tomorrow.

Emily Blunt is currently being seen in Oppenheimer, which is turning out to be a global success. The Christopher Nolan film has grossed more than $450 million at the global box office. It was released a week before Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1. Both Blunt and Cruise have previously delivered another blockbuster in 2014 with Edge of Tomorrow, and the actress is apparently all set to appear in a sequel as well.

Emily Blunt is all for an Edge of Tomorrow sequel

The actress was a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz. During the conversation, which took place before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Blunt spoke about a sequel to the 2014 film. She said that she is ready to reprise her role in a sequel, and even revealed that there was a script for the same.

"I wish there could be [an Edge of Tomorrow sequel]," said Blunt. "There was [a script] that Doug kind of slithered over to me... I would love to make it a reality, but I just don't know when, or how, or how many Mission: Impossibles does [Tom Cruise] need?"

While speaking about Tom Cruise, she said that she ‘adored’ the cowardly character that Cruise plays before he turns into the hero of the story. She added she wants the sequel to take place, and promised that she is not the one that is stopping it from happening. Edge of Tomorrow was a box office hit, as it was made on a budget of $178 million and collected $370.5 million.
