'X-Men' star Patrick Stewart declined to reprise his role as Charles Xavier

Patrick Stewart has recently revealed that he won't be making a comeback to the 'X-Men' universe since he is happy with 'Logan's ending. Read for more details.

Patrick Stewart’s portrayal of professor Charles Xavier in X-Men franchise is widely loved by fans. He h portrayed character for seventeen years before bidding it goodbye with 2017’s Logan. Ever since Marvel Studios’ regained cinematic rights to X-Men with Disney-FOX merger, fans were speculating wher Patrick Stewart will reprise iconic role again.

Patrick Stewart won't reprise role of Professor X

However, much to disappointment of his fans, Patrick Stewart does t want to reprise his role as Professor X. While speaking to a news daily, he revealed that he h met with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and h an extended conversation with him about future of character. Patrick revealed that Kevin has ted down some plot points and ideas which can allow Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier to be a part of MCU. But, actor declined since he believes that Logan was a fitting end to character. Patrick Stewart said if he hn’t done Logan, he would have considered reprising role, but final installment in  Wolverine trilogy changed way he looked at character and is satisfied with ending it received.

Marvel Studios’ he Kevin Feige has been vocal about X-Men making an entry in Marvel cinematic universe soon. During San Diego Comic-Con of 2019, Kevin Feige h anunced that an MCU X-Men film is under works. franchise is expected to get a complete revamp from its original iteration to merge newer characters into existing timeline of films. Marvel Studios also reportedly wishes to start with X-Men with a clean slate as previous X-men film Dark Phoenix was a big failure at box office. As per reports, MCU will start including X-Men characters into its cinematic roaster as existing phase four comes to a close.
