Condolences and tributes are alrey pouring in for musical star with several prominent contemporary American singers expressing grief on social media. One such singer is Bette Midler- a famous singer-songwriter herself.

Ar condolence came from Richard Marx who is American ult contemporary and pop/rock singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He thanked Ric for songs on "Heartbeat City" and how Ric was an original when it came to making songs.

Rainn Wilson, who is an American actor-comedian also expressed grief by saying Ric was a visionary and affected hearts and lives of listeners to his music.

Rocker Ric's time as a Singer

Ric Ocasek and his band attained fame with ir self-titled hit album in 1978, which included hits like 'My Best Friends Girl' and 'Just What I Needed.' According to reports, Erik ams who is an AV Club Music critic wrote in a 2018 article: 'his band gave 6 record labels from 1978 to 1987 five of which were good-to-great. n re was ' Cars', kind of band that put out a stellar debut record and n h gumption t to pack after that. In 1984, Ric and his band won MTV's 'Video of Year' for hit song 'You Might Think.'

After a sabbatical, band reunited in 2011 and released an album titled 'Movie Like This.' It was band's first and sole album without late-Bassist Benjamin Orr who passed away in 2000. Ric Ocasek and his wife recently divorced in 2018, couple were toger for 28 years.
