While speaking in an interview with a leing news daily in USA, Ryan Reylds was asked how Depool first came into his life and why did it take 10 years to get a standalone film. Ryan h n revealed that he was officially committed to a Depool film in 2015 and was trying to develop it with Dark Knight trilogy writer David Goyer, "but project would vanish off rar and come back and never really went ahe marginally".

Ryan Reylds finally got a chance to play character of We Wilson/Depool in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Ryan revealed that his appearance in film was supposed to be set up for a standalone film, and though he himself was t happy with way Depool was portrayed in this iteration, Ryan Reylds revealed he went on to play character anyways in order to be associated with character.
Fans were outspoken about how 2009's iteration of Depool was completely different from comic book character and thus, Ryan faced a lot of backlash. Ryan h revealed that foot was t meant to be released to public in any way and was me only to establish how film would actually look. But, strong vocal support of fans was so overwhelming that studio executives realised that re is a huge demand for character, as told by Ryan himself. film was finally given a green signal by 21st Century Fox studios and Ryan Reylds, to this day, credits fanbase of character for bringing Depool to silver screen.
