JJ Abrams on same-sex kiss in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker

JJ Abrams said that Star Wars universe is a place for everyone. In movie, we could see 2 female characters kissing each or. It was at end of movie and when everyone was celebrating. JJ Abrams said that he saw celebration scene as an opportunity to show that Star Wars is open to everything in a light-hearted way and t make a big deal out of it. He ded that it was Star Wars' way of saying that everyone is welcome in galaxy.

JJ Abrams also said that sexual preference does t matter and whatever race or species are, or even wher nature of existences is organic or syntic, does t matter. JJ furr spoke and said that y h t represented things like y wanted to so this was in a way to show world that Star Wars is open to everything.

To this, he said that it is responsibility of every filmmaker to represent world as it is on-screen and off-screen. He ded that his second unit director of Star Wars films is Victoria Mahoney. She was first African-American woman in that position in a Star Wars movie.
