After losing rights to a majority of her music catalog, singer Taylor Swift seems to be in a lot of trouble. Swift told sources on Thursday that an ongoing dispute with her former music label has presented a new setback as she has now been told that she can not perform her old songs for the upcoming American Music Awards or use it in a forthcoming Netflix documentary on her life.

Denied access?

Swift posted details on her Instagram Story, this new development comes months after she spoke publicly about her displeasure with a deal that saw music manager Scooter Braun take control of her old catalog after he acquired her former music label, Big Machine Label Group.

After she made the argument public, several fans took to Twitter and social media to show her their support and asked Braun to let her perform her music and reiterated the fact that it is "her music".

Fans defend her

The hashtag #IStandWithTaylor soon became one of the top hashtags globally.

A petition was also started on change.org trying to garner enough support to let her use her own art. Not only fans but even celebrities like Halsey, Tinashe, director Joseph Kahn and Iggy Azalea and several other celebrities have also come out in support of her.
