Syrian war portrait from filmmakers Wa Al- Kataeb and Edward Watts, won Best Documentary Feature, Best Director. film was also awarded Best Editing at previously anunced craft awards. documentary follows Wa al-Kataeb for five years of her life during dramatic uprising in Aleppo, Syria, as she falls in love and gets married, has a baby and navigates through her daily life under siege.

2019 BIFA winners
Apart from For Sama, Personal History of David Copperfield won five awards out of which three were in craft categories and or two included, Best Supporting Actor for Hugh Laurie, who plays Mr Dick in Armando Iannucci's aption of Charles Dickens classic vel. movie also won Best Screenplay for Iannucci and Simon Blackwell. Renée Zellweger, who remains top contenders for Best Actress Oscar won Best Actress for her performance as Judy Garland in Judy. Josh O'Conr won Best Actor Award for Only You, with Harry Wootliff winning best debut director. Emma Jane Unsworth won debt screenwriter accole for aptation of her own vel Animals, while Kate Byers and Linn Waite won breakthrough producer award for ir film Bait.
