DC film universe now has a new Batman, Robert Pattinson. Matt Reeves who previously directed films like Dawn Of The Planet of The Ape and Cloverfield will be directing the film. Ardent fans of the DC universe were reportedly disappointed with the casting choice of Robert Pattinson, as he is known to play indie roles predominantly. In recent years several petitions to retain Ben Affleck as the Batman in a standalone film were also started on the internet. The film is still two years away as it is scheduled to release in 2021. The standalone Batman adventure is titled The Batman.
Pre-production of the film has reportedly begun with Robert Pattinson reportedly beginning preparations to portray the caped crusader. Fans were reportedly also concerned about Rober Pattinson's physical appearance as Batman, but the actor has started working on his physique. Robert's trainer Rigan Machados shared a photo from a training session of him with Robert on Instagram.

Robert Pattinson will not be the first actor getting trained by Rigan Machado. The black belt holder in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has previously trained actors like Charlie Hunnam, Ashton Kutcher and Vin Diesel. There have been speculations that Robert won't go through a muscular body transformation but will build up lean muscle to portray the role of Batman.
While talking to a news daily, Matt Reeves opened up about his iteration of the iconic character. Matt has stated that the standalone film will be inspired by the likes of dark detective Batman comics from the late 80s. It has been revealed that Zoe Kravtiz will play Catwoman in the film.
