In the much-anticipated animated feature, The Garfield Movie, Chris Pratt steps into the role of the world's most sarcastic yet endearing orange cat. Scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 24, 2024, the film not only brings back the beloved Garfield but also introduces new characters to the universe created by comic artist Jim Davis.

Trailer teases Garfield's origin story

The recently released trailer gives audiences a sneak peek into Garfield's origin story, where Pratt's lovable fat cat jokingly explains how he came to adopt his owner, John. Just before indulging in a tray of lasagna, Garfield issues a playful warning to the audience about the impending messy eating scene, adding a touch of humour to the trailer.

Pratt is not alone in the voice acting spotlight, as Samuel L. Jackson lends his vocal talents to the character of Vic, Garfield's father. Both Pratt and Jackson have showcased their voice acting prowess in previous animated projects, with Jackson taking on another animated cat role in Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, and Pratt recently portraying Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
