Tom Holland's Spider-Man MCU films might not air on Disney+

Spider-Man stand-alone movies might not be available on Disney+. While the movies are set in the MCU, Sony still owns rights to those two movies.

Disney's streaming service, Disney + will soon be streaming  entire Marvel Cinematic Universe collection of 23 movies to date. However, two Spider-Man films Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home are unlikely to be included.

Spidey movies sole properties of Sony

Ricky Strauss, who is he of content and marketing for streaming service said that y do t have any plans yet to bring those two movies to Disney+. According to terms of agreement between Disney and Sony, that was renewed this year once again, Sony handles distribution of solo Spider-Man films. While Marvel retains right to feature Spidey in all ir films, right of stand-alone films, even if y are set up in backdrop of larger MCU are sole properties of Sony.

Since re have been furr talks between Disney and Sony, stand-alone films might t be available on Disney+ any time soon. Ricky Strauss himself has said that while he loves his friends at Sony, y do t have any immediate plans to bring those films to streaming service. However, he said that all Spider-Man animated shows will be available on streaming service under Marvel banner.

A ray of hope

But he also left us with hope for future when he said: "But who kws what can happen in future." This line would be eugh for internet to speculate that Disney and Sony might be in secret talks.
Meanwhile, Netflix still remains a major roblock for Disney+. Netflix still retains streaming right for Black Panr, Ant-man and Wasp, Avengers: Infinity Wars and Thor: Ragnarok until end of 2019. After contract with Netflix expires, se movies will become available in Disney+  beginning in 2020.
