A big news for the superhero fans! The 'Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2' director James Gunn has come up with a mind-blowing superhero 'horror' movie titled 'Brightburn' and the first trailer of the same rolled out on the Internet. The concept of the story is essentially Superman’s origin story but with a shocking, dark twist. Exploring the possibilities of what a boy of the alien race adopted by a human family could have been turned out into, Gunn portrays a dark and gloomy spin-off.

As per Entertainment Weekly, the official synopsis of the film read, “What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With 'Brightburn', the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.”

The terrifying recreation of 'Man of Steel' will give you chills down the spine. It has several scenes similar to the Superman venture including the topography of the place and the shot of a lone swing by a farmhouse. In the trailer a little boy can be seen chewing a fork, making spooky doodles, doing weird activities like growling and snuggling to the floor and roaming around at night. He can also be seen standing some feet above the ground donning a spooky mask. In fact, by the end of the trailer, the mother who cradled the baby boy can be seen hiding from him as he turns out to be a monster.

James Gunn teased the making of this 'secret movie' long back as he was scheduled to reveal about the same at San Diego Comic-Con. However, things got delayed because of the whole Disney controversy involving him and finally, he introduced his fans to his first 'Superhero horror' venture this weekend at Brazil’s Comic-Con. Gunn is producing the project while David Yarovesky serves as the director. The film features Elizabeth Banks, Meredith Hagner, and David Denman in the lead roles and is all set to hit the theaters this Memorial Day on May 2019.
