Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker's writer Chris Terrio recently opened up about why one of main antagonists of series - Palpatine h to return. Rise of Skywalker is newest dition to Star Wars universe and it did exceedingly well at box office, closing out sequel trilogy as well as Skywalker saga. Though, re were many reviews surfacing that have been incredibly negative, somehow because of former Senator Palpatine.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker's writers reveal reason for Palpatine's return

During a Q&A session,  writer Chris Terrio explained why y h to bring Palpatine a.k.a Darth Sidious back for end of Skywalker saga. He explained that since Palpatine was such an important part in Skywalker storyline, he needed to be present in final film. He also explained that he and director JJ Abrams wanted to utilize line from prequels when Palpatine tells Anakin, " dark side of force is a pathway to many abilities, some consider to be unnatural."

However, re were fans who were excited to see Palpatine return to silver screen, several ors were t satisfied with reasoning behind his return. As Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of Sith was considered a good starting point for teasing Palpatine's return, but line is sole explanation as to how Palpatine returned from de. A large number of people have complaints with sequel trilogy stating that it did t present a cohesive story between three films and also that Palpatine's rising from de in Rise Of Skywalker came through as a course-correction than anything else.
